So many people ask me how to make spaghetti squash.. and when I tell them.. they just laugh.. Why?? Theres nothing to it.
Heres the “secret” to your veggie Sunday Spaghetti Dinner
Next up cook it.. I boil mine .. just submerge The entire squash..as is..in arolling boiling pot of water.. for about 20 minutes.. fully submerged. Many microwave..(12 minutes on high) I do not, if you do, you need to make four to six knife holes ( just a prick of the knife) in the squash.. but do NOT make holes when boiling.
After cooked (boiled or microwave) let cool to touch or use a cloth to hold while cutting in half length wise. .. once cut open, take out seeds with a fork or spoon and discard ( or roast if you like that?)
Next up .. after you take out seeds.. using a fork scrape each side of squash… it will just come out in strands.. like spaghetti…. put in a bowl.. and serve as you would ANY pasta..
One cup of spaghetti squash has about 45 calories (just cooked squash) and about 10 grams of carbs ( if you are counting?).. its loaded with Vitamins C and B6.. and did I mention.. it really does taste like spaghetti ??
