Grilling… romaine !

One  of my favorite ways to serve a salad in summer is with Grilled Romaine ..   I use it just as is plain and grilled or as a base to a bigger salad topped with seafood salad, or cheeses and or other grilled or marinated veggies..  its delish.

I was surprised when I served this recently, that many had never enjoyed romaine lettuce grilled before.. so here is a little HOW TO, just in case you too were curious.

Step One..  Start with Romaine Heart..  wash and either cut ends off (  like I do) or leave them on..

Step Two.. Cut whole romaine heart in half length wise

Step Three.. Drizzle with olive oil, sea salt and pepper to taste

Step Four.. Grill flat side down

Serve.. as is or with other goodies on top.. using heart as a base for your salad.
